It’s May! Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, those flowers that April showers brought us, Memorial Day, my dad’s birthday, last month of school for my kids, etc. Does your month look anything like mine? It’s a busy month. Let’s make it busier for you by scheduling your Mother’s Day shoot! Kidding, I made this one easy for you. It’s ten minutes, folks. More on that later. Two more things for May: we want to talk a little more about our commercial and headshot sessions opening up in June aaaannndd we want to give you some free tips on how to take authentic and awesome photos of your kids. Yup, you -behind the camera – and getting awesome photos that YOU took. You didn’t even have to pay me for them. Cool, right? Read on, my friends!
Mother’s Day Mini Sessions take place in the new SRP studio this year. Same home, but we built a sunroom and this light is the light of my dreams. Think – choirs singing heavenly hymns, that’s how I feel about this light. These sessions are quick and get you in and out and on with your day. Also, we decided to do it a little differently this year on two fronts: first, we didn’t want you to come in on Mother’s Day. You have better things to do. We were hoping you either gift this to yourself, or someone special gives this to you on Mother’s Day. You’ll then have about two weeks to decide on outfits, get your hair cut, maybe nails done, OR come as you are because unless you like those things, you don’t need ’em. You fab, promise. Secondly, we are letting you choose which images you want edited this year! We will post the best 25 images (I promise I only delete those with eyes closed, tongues out, hair in face, etc) and you will get to pick which ones you want SRP to edit. More on that once you have booked!
At SRP we do not discriminate. We support love of all forms. If you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, please know that SRP is an ally, and you will be met with love and respect, just as any SRP client!
If you are a dog mom, a cat mom, a lizard mom, or a mom who went by another name, this shoot is for you!

We are suiting up over here and have put together some legit commercial and headshot packages for you. At SRP we have done many corporate headshots over the years, worked on commercial projects with companies like Title Nine, Lillebaby, Vegan Health + Fitness, iLOFT Denver and Fire Glass Studios, to name a few, and shot more personal headshots than we can count. But get this, we never advertised. What the heck, right? We got our shizz in order and we are so excited to launch these new services at SRP. I’m using the word “new” here lightly. Not new, but finally packaged all pretty and official because we are professionals.
Next month we will share all of the good stuff, but for now, here are the three new sessions we will be adding and some example photos so you get the idea.
Personal Headshots are best for you if you are a professional updating your LinkedIn profile picture, or need an image for your company website or newsletter. These photos are for any business related use.
Lifestyle Headshots are best for you if you need updated images for your personal brand. These photos shall assist you in creating profit by showcasing your personal brand as a professional/ influencer. These are not product photos.
Commercial Photo Sessions are best for lifestyle product shots, corporate headshots, company branding, and/or product photos.
Every year I try to do a little mini shoot of my kids around their birthday. I’ve missed a year before, it happens. This doesn’t have to be as time consuming and overwhelming as it sounds though, promise. It’s actually pretty easy because you let them lead the way and we all know that when kids are in charge they are a lot happier. Here are my top three tips for taking rad photos of your kids:
Put that all together and you might have something like what my son came up with: his toy trucks, a construction zone, and overalls with cowboy boots. Here’s the deal, you want to document your kids just as they are; bruises, scraped knees, mismatched clothing they picked out, etc. These aren’t the perfectly polished photos you pay someone else to take. I mean, that person probably takes gorgeous, award winning photos of your family. Wink, wink. But, anyhow, you just want to let your kids be your kids in these photos. No posing, no asking them to smile. Just joke around with them, let them play and keep your camera on and ready to go. Put it all together in a little album and I promise your child will beam with pride when they see it. My kids look through theirs all of the time. Go do it, you’ll knock your own socks off!
